Your extreme foreground looks a little boxed in and non-descript, it's hard to distinguish between what i presume is his left shoulder armour and the end of the weapon.
However, the armour texture, lighting and atmosphere of the piece strikes true for me, all these elements fit very well and add to a composition that's only comprimised by the first point.
Maybe a few more nicks and dints in the armour, and as for the weapon, when i am in doubt about what to do with an object, drench it in blood! Perhaps also attempt to frame the very bottom right corner of your work with the weapon head, making the composition flow somewhat more.
The shift in focus between the weapon head and your middle ground may have to be exaggerated a little more because of this too, making sure to keep the eyes and helm in true focus.
